This Speck of Dust in the Webverse
Just like every other journal out there, this is a soapbox. And what's my platform? What do I have to share?

I am a new writer and started this journal as a way to share a serial story. I update it twice a month with complete episodes. That story is a classic fantasy tale in a world with very little in the way of magic and no elves or dwarves or the like.

I also provide reviews of board and card games. I try to make sure that I have played a game at least three times before I provide a review. I am an avid gamer and I know most of my friends are as well. I hope that the game reviews are appreciated and found useful by others. I will attempt to provide this review every Monday. Clicking here will give you a link to just the game reviews.

A final note on the story - this is an experiment and all of these pieces are admittedly first draft quality. I just thought it would be interesting to be kept on schedule and be able to share a story with people directly. If you are just starting, here are some ease of use links.

Nov. 16th, 2009 @ 10:47 pm Game Review: Ninja Burger
This week I am reviewing Ninja Burger, a humorous game by Steve Jackson Games, a company better known for their Munchkin series of cards. But, why would you want to be a dungeoneering munchkin when you can work for a ninja delivery company? It turns out, it's not all it is meant to be.

Sep. 28th, 2009 @ 08:12 am Game Review: Spacehulk
This week is a classic table top war strategy board game called Spacehulk. My friends from college remember this one all too well. I can remember being chased down the hall by friends desperately wanting to play and repeating in zombie-like trance fashion... "Space... hulk..."

I was inspired to review this game based on [info]ledeir's recent post about Small World. And no, the game is not based on the Disney song. Trust me, that is a very good thing. Are you ready to do battle?

Aug. 10th, 2009 @ 04:06 pm Game Review: Battlestar Galactica
So, I am pretty sure that [info]gamerchick has been waiting for me to review this one. Although, I can't blame her if she is since she is the one that got me to give this game a shot. I thought it was fitting to do the review of Battlestar Galactica this week since I just finally finished the series this past weekend (I had to wait for them to come out on DVD).

Dragonmaster is another oldie that I grew up playing. It's a trick-taking that is like hearts, but prettier and with a bit of strategy flavor added to it.

This is one of my best friend's favorite games, but I think you will find that her and I do not hold the game in equal esteem. :) But, it is still a good game, as long as you keep in mind its shortcomings.

Palabra - it's like Scrabble, but with cards; and more fun in my opinion )
